A paraglider flying high above the city of Iquique and the Pacific coast

Iquique Tours & Tickets

A flight over the dune, a board down it, a boat across the bay — every Iquique experience you can book online, plus the best of what comes next.

We will be straight with you: GetYourGuide’s coverage of Iquique is thin. At the time of writing there are five products — paragliding, two sandboarding sessions, a guided city tour with a boat trip, and one very long altiplano expedition. There is no Humberstone or Pica tour on the platform.

So this page does two things. First it lists every real Iquique experience, with what we think of each. Then, because most visitors arrive from or continue to Arica or San Pedro de Atacama, it adds the best-reviewed tours in those gateways. For Humberstone, Pica and the geoglyphs, see our destination guides for how to go independently or with an agency in town.

The classic altiplano day trip of the far north, and the easiest organised way to see high-Andean lakes and volcanoes if you are travelling between Iquique and Arica. Departs from Arica and reaches well over 4,000 m, so give yourself time at altitude first if you can.

Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Iquique experience is best value?

Sandboarding, from around US$52 for two hours, is the cheapest and the best reviewed. The tandem paragliding flight, from around US$67 with a GoPro video, is the one we would not leave without doing.

Why is there no Humberstone tour here?

Because we only list products that really exist on GetYourGuide, and at the time of writing there is none for Humberstone, Pica or the geoglyphs. Agencies in Iquique sell these day trips, and public buses pass Humberstone and run to Pica.

Can paragliding be cancelled because of weather?

Iquique flies on most days of the year, but pilots will postpone if the wind is wrong. Book for early in your stay so there is room to move the flight, and check the cancellation terms on the listing.

Are the Arica and San Pedro tours day trips from Iquique?

No. They start in Arica (about 310 km north) and San Pedro de Atacama (a long day’s travel via Calama). We include them for travellers continuing along the usual northern Chile route.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Most listings offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, and many let you reserve now and pay later. The exact terms are shown on each tour page before you confirm.
